Censorship of Sexually Explicit Materials
Written on February 16, 2012 at 2:38 pm, by jbrisbane
The question of censorship of sexually explicit materials in Australia continues to generate lively public debate. For example, the suggestion by Clive Hamilton of the Australia Institute, in August 2004, that the government should move to censor sexually explicit materials online sparked the latest public exchange about this issue (Symons, 2004; Hamilton, 2004).
A healthy public sphere allows for a range of voices to contribute to the formation of a public will, and thus to inform the generation of public policy. In the debate about Hamilton’s proposal, the voices that were put forward were typical of those heard in debates about pornography and censorship: religious figures (Pell, 2004); concerned parents (Loane, 2004); politicians (Petrusma, 2004); and people who claim not to consume pornography (Perrottet, 2004).
In this debate, as in most public debates about censorship of sexually explicit materials, the voices of one set of experts have been systematically excluded from consideration: those of Australians who use sexually explicit materials as part of their everyday lives. According to some surveys, these consumers constitute up to 33% of the adult population of the country (Roy Morgan, 1999: 11)—and yet we don’t hear their point of view being presented in public debates about censorship; and we rarely draw on their expertise in understanding these issues. They are condemned (Pell, 2004b), pitied (Shanahan, 2004), and even spoken for (Hamilton, quoted in Symons, 2004b: 4) in public debates—but their point of view is kept out.
In order to help address this gap, we conducted detailed interviews with forty six consumers of pornography from around Australia. The interviewees were accessed through an initial survey that was administered to over 1000 consumers. This survey was distributed in two ways. Firstly, we wanted to access viewers of pornographic videos and DVDs. In order to do this we inserted 5000 hard copies of the survey within a catalogue of pornographic material which is distributed by mail order company Axis entertainment in Australia. Because of the unusual nature of censorship laws in Australia (it is legal to buy pornography in every State and Territory in the
country, but illegal to sell it in any State—it can only be sold in the two Territories, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory), mail-order distributors of pornography in Australia have a wide reach among pornography consumers around the country. These surveys were sent out in August 2003. 367 valid responses were received (7.3% response rate). Right to bare legs It should be noted that this is a low response rate. This is perhaps to be expected in a public context in which users of pornography are sometimes vilified as being dangerous or criminal.
In order to allow for the possibility that there may also be consumers of pornography in Australia who are not comfortable putting their name on the mailing list of an adult company—or who simply bankruptcy attorney in Douglasville choose not to, for reasons including ease of access to pornographic material through alternative routes such as the Internet—we also administered the survey on the Internet. The survey instrument (which was the same as that used in the catalogues) was placed online (http://www.understandingpornography.info) on the 2 June 2003 and remained accessible until the 29 October 2003. In order to gain access to the widest possible population of pornographic consumers myself and my two colleagues on this project—Kath Albury and Catharine Lumby, both of the University of Sydney—advertised the survey in a number of different media, including radio, newspapers and magazines, live events such as debates and on Internet lists. 656 valid responses were received from the Internet (after they had been checked for duplicate responses, completeness, internal consistency and multiple responses from single Magic Mesh screen door IP addresses), for a total of 1023 responses from consumers of pornography
The survey was anonymous, but at the end we invited participants to provide us with their names and contact details if they wanted to be interviewed in more detail for the project. 329 respondents provided their contact details (31.9% of those completing the hard copy of the survey and 32.3% of Internet respondents). We then chose and interviewed forty six of these consumers—twenty six male and twenty female, aged from eighteen to eighty-four, across a range of income brackets, sexualities, urban/rural situations, and every State and Territory in the country (these cover the main demographic categories that have been found to be related to pornography consumption—see Smith et al., 2003: 103). In choosing the interviewees, we aimed not for a representative sample of all pornography users in Australia; but for an illustrative one. We wanted to ensure that the widest possible range of voices was heard and so identified respondents from a range of demographic groups provides demographic details for each of the interviewees; this can be cross-referenced with the numbers given in the body of this article. The interviews, each lasting about an hour, were conducted at a place of the interviewees’ choosing.
We then had to decide how to analyze the data provided by the interviewees. A key decision was to treat the interviewees as reasonable and informed sources of information. This is a controversial decision. Some commentators have suggested that the consumption of pornography is, in itself, a sign of mental weakness—such as addiction—which Smoke Assist would suggest that we should thus not listen to what pornography consumers say about the topic (‘Lust junkies: 2004). However, this position is a moral rather than a scientific one. It tautologically assumes that the act of consuming pornography is, in itself, a symptom of mental illness. We must remember that there is no evidence suggesting that the consumption of pornography is linked to any recognized form of mental illness. There is thus no scientific reason to treat the interviewees—or, as mentioned above, the 33% of the adult population who consume adult materials—as being any less HGH reasonable or informed sources of information than any other group of interviewees. The second key decision, following on from this, was to attempt in the analysis to present what the interviewees themselves said, rather than to look for hidden, or subconscious meanings that they themselves would not be aware of.
Thirdly, in the analysis, I looked for two different kinds of Max Burn information. On the one hand, I sought out the most common positions and ways of thinking about pornography presented by the consumers (what academics call ‘dominant discourses’); on the other, I looked for the most original and interesting points that they made about the topic.
Of course I am not making the naïve claim that I am simply letting the interviewees speak for themselves. There is a strong analytical component involved in analyzing this material—a quarter of a million words of interviews have been edited down to 5000 words. I made decisions about which comments were the most interesting, the limits of Shake Weight what would count as ‘making the same point’, the categories into which they should be organized and so on. But for those readers who are concerned that the article simply gives users of pornography the chance to present their position without critiquing them, or analyzing them against external representations, it is worth emphasizing that is the point of the work. This expertise has not previously been presented in the public debate, and this paper is an attempt to do so.

African Mango Diet Plan
Written on May 9, 2012 at 10:06 pm, by jbrisbaneDr. Oz, the physician that TV Star Oprah frequently consults for their joint demonstrations, revealed to the delight of many groups of people across the world that African Mango goods — those that contain the element Irvingia Gabonensis — could be the largest and most impressive weightloss factor for anyone who tries to diet.
Irvingia Gabonensis is soaring in popularity: getting some of this most sought-after and very common ingredient inside active dietary supplements seems to be the main aim of healthcare food specialists. Even those that are usually quite reticent about endorsing dieting “wonderfoods” have come forward to sing the praises of African Mango.
After much research into the positve and negative aspects of Irvingia Gabonensis, it is increasingly clear that the positive side-effects of the ingredient are impressive, to say the least. It is the kind of research that develops into attention-grabbing headlines and — as evidenced by its appearance on the Oprah show –much-wanted media attention.

Read on and share your birthday wishes for the pop princess!
A: April 27. On that day, Gaga will launch what’s sure to be one of the year’s most spectacular spectacles at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea, which brings us to …
B: … Born This Way Ball! We were there when Gaga announced the name of the tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey, last year, and it has been hinted that we can expect an “electro pop opera.” She had us at “opera.”
C: Castle. Mother Monster tweeted an image of the stage design for the tour, and the elaborate gothic castle has us excited.
D: “Dark.” Gaga’s former creative director, Laurieann Gibson, opened up just last week about why she parted ways with the pop star, telling “ET Canada” that Gaga’s ideas “got a little dark for me creatively.”
E: Elton John. The godmother to John’s adopted son, Gaga has teased a duet with the “Rocket Man” singer for her next album.
F: Fernando Garibay. The musical director behind Born This Way told MTV News that the new album already has a title and concept.
G: Gothic. Veils, brooches and lots of black: Gaga has adopted a gothic theme for her tour, but also in her fashion choices.
H: “Heavy Metal Lover.” This jam has been begging for radio play; at the very least, the BTW cut should make it to the tour set list.
I: Inez & Vinoodh. The Dutch photography duo were heavily involved in the spectacle surrounding Gaga’s “Yoü and I” video, crafting awesome fashion clips after the official music video.
J: Joanne. Lady Gaga’s parents recently opened this Italian trattoria, named for Gaga’s late aunt, on New York City’s Upper West Side.
K: Kinney, as in Taylor Kinney. The beautiful man who played Gaga’s love interest in the “Yoü and I” video is rumored to be her real-life love interest too.

M: Monster Pit. The special enclosed space within the Born This Way Ball stage where lucky Monsters who line up for hours, even days, before the show will be able to take in the concerts.
N: Nicola Formichetti. The singer’s new creative director will be her co-HBIC for the foreseeable future.
O: Oprah. The talk-show queen is Gaga’s new BFF, pretty much. She even tapped the OWN network boss to interview her not long after they launched Gaga’s anti-bullying-focused Born This Way Foundation together.
P: Piano. One of the best parts of the Monster Ball was when Gaga would slow things down, chatting with the crowd and showing off her raw talent at the piano.
Q: Quinceañera. Gaga’s one-word Twitter response to a Little Monster who asked how she would celebrate her 26th birthday this year, never mind that it’s the kind of party reserved for 15-year-olds. They grow up so fast.
R: Red Wine. Widely known to be Mother Monster’s alcoholic beverage of choice, alongside whiskey and beer.
S: “Stuck on F—in’ You.” This unreleased and unedited track was leaked by Gaga herself as a Christmas gift to her Little Monsters. She recorded the naughty song on her tour bus last go-round. Can we get another?
T: Tea. Gaga’s non-alcoholic beverage of choice, about which she recently tweeted a lesson she learned: #KettlesAreForTeaNotFashion.
U: Unicorns. The mythical creatures may not exist, but Gaga swoons for them, and why not? Fantasy is as important to her as reality.
V: Video Music Awards. Is it too early to begin the campaign for her to blow our minds again at the 2012 VMAs? We’d even settle for Jo Calderone again.
W: Wigs. Her supply is never-ending and will likely continue to fascinate us right on through her 26th year.
X: “Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson.” Amazing photo book. Seriously, check it out.
Y: Yuyi. Will the mermaid join Gaga on tour this year? As long as the tour bus is sea-creature-friendly.
Z: Z100 Jingle Ball. In December, Gaga performed a short-but-captivating set at New York City’s Madison Square Garden that gave us a peek at what’s to come on the Born This Way Ball.

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball Kicks Off Amid Protests
Written on May 20, 2012 at 9:25 pm, by jbrisbaneLady Gaga kicked off her hotly awaited Born This Way Ball at Seoul, South Korea’s Olympic Stadium on Friday (April 27) in front of 45,000 fans, and despite protests from Christian groups saying Mother Monster was “obscene” and could “taint” young people with her performance, the concert appears to have gone on without incident.
Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the BTW Ball’s enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.
While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to elevate the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga’s tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show ? which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly ? was considered unsuitable for children under 18.
The likely catalyst for the board’s decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group covered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of “spreading unhealthy sexual culture” through “lewd lyrics and performances.”
The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she tweeted her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn’t), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga’s most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.
Before the show, Gaga tweeted, “I can you hear you Korea. I’m shaking.”
Gaga’s performance was heavy on material from her Born this Way album, though her biggest hits, including “Bad Romance,” Poker Face” and “Just Dance,” were represented.
Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball set list:
» “Highway Unicorn”
» “Government Hooker”
» “Born This Way”
» “Bloody Mary”
» “Bad Romance”
» “Fashion of His Love”
» “The Queen”
» “Just Dance”
» “Love Game”
» “Telephone”
» “Just Dance”
» “Heavy Metal Lover”

Lady Gaga Under Fire After ‘PopStarsDontEat’ Comment
Written on May 20, 2012 at 6:25 pm, by jbrisbaneWhat was clearly intended as a jokey tweet lamenting the rigorous diet and exercise routine she is currently undertaking to prepare for her 110-date Born This Way Ball has put Lady Gaga in the crosshairs of some angry fans and eating-disorder organizations. On Tuesday, the pop star tweeted, “Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay.” Some fans thought the tweet wasn’t exactly keeping with the pop star’s “You’re perfect the way you are” message and that her choice of the “#PopStarsDontEat” hashtag could be misinterpreted as encouraging eating disorders because she posits herself as a role model to her fans.
The National Eating Disorder Association even weighed in, hitting its own Twitter account to write, “Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?”
MTV Buzzworthy has an Open Letter To Lady Gaga While it seems clear that Gaga was joking ? who hasn’t dove into a salad wishing it was something else? ? the comment does appear out of character for the star, who has spoken publicly about her own struggles with an eating disorder as a teen. Using that particular hashtag might have been a poor choice, but it’s safe to say Lady Gaga wasn’t knowingly making light of eating disorders ? and, otherwise, wasn’t she mostly just encouraging exercise and healthy eating? Gaga tweets often about all sort of less-than-healthful habits, from drinking (“after 12 margaritas my phone was confiscated”) to, well, other things (“princess xena of xanaxland has lil secrets in her inbox”). Why she is being scrutinized for making an observation about something we already know ? that celebrities engage in intense fitness regimens to meet the unrealistic expectations placed on their appearance ? is kind of a mystery. But, you know, totally appropriate and necessary reason for outrage, everyone. Sound off on Gaga’s #PopSingersDontEat tweet in the comments below!

Lady Gaga’s 26th Birthday: Her 10 Best MTV Quotes!
Written on May 20, 2012 at 3:25 pm, by jbrisbaneListen up, Little Monsters: It’s Mother Monster’s 26th birthday! And in that quarter of a century (plus one year!), Lady Gaga has managed to reinvent the pop wheel with her eccentric persona and pumping, politically charged dance music. When asked how she planned to celebrate another year, she simply told a Monster on Twitter, “Quinceanera.”
While we’ll be Quinceañera-ing in spirit, we will celebrate her colorful life and career by remembering 10 of the most-revealing bites she’s shared with MTV News. So, dabble on some glitter, put on your best wig, platforms and leotard, and let’s take a stroll down memory lane ? in no particular order.
10. In 2009, Gaga sat down and explained that when “Poker Face” was re-imagined by Kanye West and Kid Cudi as “I Poke Her Face” (later changed to “Make Her Say”), she felt that it was time for someone to get the true meaning of the lady-love euphemism.
Check out our Lady Gaga soundboard, and leave a birthday message for Mother Monster!
“It’s funny, because a lot of my fans were like, ‘Gaga, Kanye wrote a song … and it’s not about what your record’s about. Your record is about gambling, and this song is about dirty sex things,’ ” she recalled. “I said to them, ‘You’re wrong. Kanye was right,’ ” she explained, laughing.
“That’s exactly what this song is about. The record is about how I used to fantasize about women when I was with my boyfriend. It was really exciting that he had so much insight into what the song was about. He’s a cool guy.”
9. Gaga’s pop-music kinship with Beyoncé has been well-documented in two songs: G’s “Telephone” and B’s “Video Phone.” When Gaga headed to shoot the Hype Williams-directed video for “Video Phone,” she had this message for the team: “I said, ‘I want to do you in your video, and I want to tribute you. I want to dress up like you,’ ” Gaga recalled telling her co-star. “And Hype Williams … was so excited. He was like, ‘Gaga, I want no makeup on your face.’ It was really stripped down ? real Beyoncé hair, and we wore the same outfit in the video, and I [paid tribute to] her.”
8. Gaga’s love for her hometown of NYC is hardly surprising, and she shared on the MTV special “Inside the Outside” that when she sat down to write the track “Marry the Night,” “he” was the perfect muse to inspire the song. “It’s never gonna go away, the tan of New York never goes away,” she explained about always identifying with the city that bred her.
7. During the same special, Gaga opened up about her other inspiration ? her fans ? adding, “The biggest surprise to me has been my relationship with my fans. They’ve changed my life. The fans are the thing that you can’t learn; they were the instrument in the music that nobody taught me about.”
6. Always politically charged and motivated, Gaga has made it her mission to not only make chart-topping music, but also be a voice for the disenfranchised. When she sat down for “MTV First: Lady Gaga” in 2011, she explained that, despite her strong political beliefs, she wouldn’t want to run for office.
“Well, first of all, I wouldn’t want to be president for the day,” she said. “And I say that because I really, for myself, it’s important that my message, although it has political implications, I like to keep myself separate because politics can constrain things,” she continued. “So, our message can be completely free of any politics, and we can just surge forward.”
5. During that “MTV First,” when she debuted her video for “Yoü and I,” the singer discussed how difficult love can sometimes be and how her art explores that theme. “Sometimes in love, you can’t make it work,” she said. “No matter what you do, there’s this giant boundary between you and someone else. So, that’s what it’s about: perceiving in your imagination that there’s something magical inside of you that you can make it work.”
4. At the 2011 VMAs, she pulled the ultimate costume change by appearing as her male alter-ego, Jo Calderone. Gaga, as Jo, took home the Moonman for her fist-pumping equality anthem “Born This Way.” Afterward, Jo explained, “She was texting me after the award, after I picked it up for her, and she just said, ‘You know, more than anything I’ve ever gotten before, this means more to me, because “Born This Way” is about the fans and the fans are more important to me than anything I do; more important than f—ing breathing, you know?’ “
3. In late 2011, Gaga released her semi-autobiographical video for “Marry the Night,” noting that history can be reinterpreted for her art, if need be. “This was one of the first times that the fashion didn’t propel so much of the story line,” she explained. “It is autobiographical, so the entire story’s true, and it’s through the lens of how I choose to repaint my past.”
2. Behind every great woman is a great Haus. Gaga’s famed, rarely spotted, Haus of Gaga are the folks who help create the live shows, fashions and accessories she wears. And they mean everything to her. “They’re my best friends,” she said. “I’m not really sure what the world thinks … but I do hear things like, ‘Who is the Haus of Gaga?’ and ‘Are you putting out a fashion line?’ And no one gets it. It’s not a commodity. It’s not something that’s meant to be sold.
“It’s a real bond and relationship, and that’s what I think music and art is about,” she said. “They are my heart and soul. They believe in me, and they look at me like a mother and daughter and sister, with pride and love.”
1. In the end, everything Gaga does is for her art, and there’s no place Gaga feels more at home than onstage in front of thousands of screaming fans. “I don’t see the live show as extension of the record at all, it’s meant to be a completely different experience with the artist, with myself. I want my fans to come and go to a party,” she told MTV News.
“I want them to watch the show and think, ‘I’m so f—ing cool that I am here right now.’ It’s about them. It’s about love. It’s about art. The show is meant to bring a tremendous feeling and sentiment of escapism.”

Oliver Cooper Wants You To Help Make Him The ‘Best Onscreen Dirtbag’
Written on May 20, 2012 at 12:25 pm, by jbrisbaneHooray for Movie Awards season and the cutthroat competition between this year’s very deserving group of nominees! And although the majority of the nominations were snagged by some popular wizards, bridesmaids and tributes, there is plenty of Movie Awards love and Golden Popcorn to go around. Kinda.
Speaking of Movie Awards love, we have to give it up to first-time nominee Oliver Cooper for putting together this very clever campaign video and Facebook page.
“These are the nominees for Best Onscreen Dirtbag, but only one of them has a proven track record as a douchebag,” the ad begins. “He’s been called a crude, pushy creep, and ‘the most annoying movie character since Jar Jar Binks.’”
MTV News recently caught up with the Best Onscreen Dirtbag nominee to discuss his creative campaign efforts.
“I’m stoked. I’m putting all my hours in the campaign to win this Dirtbag award,” Cooper said. “My strategy is to talk to as many people as I can to win this thing. I’m traveling across the country,” he joked. “We don’t have much money right now, I’m taking Greyhound buses to different cities telling people why I should win.”
The “Project X” star went on to say that he’s going for strong word of mouth, as well as a few sympathy votes.
“We’re going to put up more videos and hopefully catch a following, get people onboard, who liked the movie or hated me,” he said. “There are probably more people that hated me.”
“I’m trying to gain as much weight, let myself go as much as possible,” he continued, speaking to how he’s getting ready for his big night on June 3. “I want people to really think of me as disgusting. ‘God that guy is despicable. How can he possibly be in movies?’”
Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

‘Battleship’ Vs. ‘What To Expect’: Brooklyn Decker’s Double Feature
Written on May 20, 2012 at 9:25 am, by jbrisbaneIf you have a thing for busty blondes, we suggest you pencil a double feature into your weekend plans, seeing as model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker stars in not one, but two movies opening Friday: the blow-’em-up action flick “Battleship” and the pregnancy rom-com “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”
In the Decker vs. Decker showdown, box-office analysts seem to agree that “Battleship” will sink “What to Expect,” though it’s unlikely either will unseat reigning superheroes of the cinema, “The Avengers,” who are eyeing their third first-place weekend. Nonetheless, having two films open on a single day is a neat distinction for the 25-year-old actress, though one that’s not as rare as you might think. Here are a cluster of stars who have pulled theatrical double-duty (or are set to):
James Franco
Nowadays, you can’t shake a stick at pop culture without James Franco fetching it, but back in the early aughts ? following the cancellation of the beloved “Freaks and Geeks” ? Franco wasn’t nearly so ubiquitous. Yet he still managed to star in two films opening May 3, 2002: “Spider-Man” and “Deuces Wild.” We probably don’t need to tell you which one snagged all the dollars at the box office that weekend.
Christian Kane
Big-name stars aren’t the only ones holding a pair. You may recognize Christian Kane from the TNT heist series “Leverage,” or you may know him from a duo of 2004 film roles. On October 8 of that year, he appeared in the film version of “Friday Night Lights” and the Queen Latifah/ Jimmy Fallon comedy “Taxi.”
Dakota Fanning
No one saw Dakota Fanning in two films opening February 6, 2009, technically speaking, but that’s only because one was animated. The pint-size actress flexed her supernatural skills in the action flick “Push,” while letting her vocals do all the work as the titular heroine of “Coraline.”
David Koechner
Another actor dabbling in both animation and live-action on a single release date is David Koechner. The “Anchorman” actor hit the pit crew in Will Ferrell’s “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and channeled his inner-animal as the voice of a coyote in the animated “Barnyard,” all on August 4, 2006.
Samuel L. Jackson
The most recent two-for-one special comes courtesy of the prolific Samuel L. Jackson, whose “Avengers” continues to hammer the competition. But did you know his crime drama “Meeting Evil” (based on the novel by Thomas Berger) also opened May 4? Yeah, we didn’t think so.
Channing Tatum
Maybe it’s a sign of the apocalypse (or, at the very least, a trend) that four actors had or will have two movies opening on the same day in 2012. Like Decker, Tatum is hitting nearly every demographic with his titillating twofer. On June 29, the 32-year-old will suit up as Duke for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and strip down as an exotic dancer for “Magic Mike.”
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Christmas present to America this year is himself. Twice over. The actor stars in two films opening December 25: “The Great Gatsby” and “Django Unchained.” Which one will egg-nog-fueled audiences choose to unwrap? Only Santa knows for sure.
Check out everything we’ve got on “Battleship” and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

50 Cent And Wiz Khalifa Collaboration: ‘Stay Tuned’
Written on May 20, 2012 at 6:25 am, by jbrisbane50 Cent was admitted to the hospital earlier this week when he began to suffer from severe stomach pains, but by the time he was released Thursday, the G-Unit CEO had already put plans into motion for a new collaboration with Wiz Khalifa.
MTV News caught up with Fif at his G-Unit offices in NYC after his release, and he explained that a tweet from Wiz gave birth to the collaboration. The tweet in question: “I Gotta Song I Wanna Put @50Cent On.”
“While I was sitting in the hospital, I saw Wiz Khalifa send a tweet out saying he got something, and he felt like it would be cool if I was actually on a record with him,” 50 said. “So I responded to him and I told him, ‘Let’s work.’ I’m feeling good, I was feeling better by the time that tweet went through, so I said, ‘Send it,’ and I’ll speak to him a little later on.
“Stay tuned to hear what happens next because it’s gonna go down,” he added, confirming that the collaboration is for real. Fif’s guest verse is likely to pop up on the Taylor Gang MC’s upcoming LP O.N.I.F.C., which is set to debut August 28. It would mark their first collaboration together. Thus far, Wiz has revealed that features on his Rolling Papers follow-up will include Pharrell, Cam’ron, Curren$y and the Weeknd.
50 Cent has made a full recovery since his release from the hospital, and next Tuesday, he will drop The Lost Tape, hosted by DJ Drama.
During his stay in the hospital, the Queens mogul received a phone call from longtime friend and collaborator Eminem, who had a few firm words for him. “He goes, ‘Yo, Fif, you were shot nine times, man, if you die over a burger, this sh– ain’t gonna go right,’ ” 50 told MTV News just hours after his release. ” ‘People ain’t gonna be feelin’ this.’ “
